Remember the big lovebug we call Lenny? Well, Lenny came into rescue last year and it was discovered he had been shot in the face. Because of this Lenny had surgery to remove an eye. He was adopted in the Pacific Northwest but returned to rescue because of issues with his jaw. Lenny was in a lot of pain and could not open his mouth very wide, so his foster mom took him to an amazing veterinarian who worked with a specialist at UC Davis to determine what was wrong. They discovered there were bullet fragments and scar tissue that were keeping Lenny from opening his mouth without pain. So, the rescue organized a Love for Lenny virtual 5k and amazing supporters raised enough money for the extensive surgery to fix Lenny’s jaw.
Lenny is now fully healed and is ready to find his forever home! He can now eat food easier, play with toys, chew bones and he loves to play with his foster brothers. Lenny really likes his daily walks and is very affectionate towards his humans. He would do best in a home with another active dog to keep him company and older children who are respectful of dog boundaries. Lenny comes when called and knows sit, lay down and stay. He is a great snuggle buddy, likes car rides, and does not mind the water! Lenny isn’t a fan of cats and needs a cat free home. He is working on his leash manners and needs humans that will continue his training. Lenny is currently being fostered in Beaverton, OR.
