Babe is a sweetheart who is looking for his forever family. He is half Great Pyrenees, and half German Shepard with beautiful white and cream coloring. He is 9 months old and turns 1 in August. He weighs 75 pounds and is still growing. He is crate trained, potty trained, and good around cats. He has never had an accident and sleeps through the night. He is a great learner and will pick up on what resident dogs are doing, and copy them. He knows the command Sit, and is learning Stay, and Lay Down currently. He goes on weekly off-leash hikes where he practices his off-leash recall skills and is looking forward to being your hiking buddy! He also loves car rides.

He is not destructive in the house at all and knows the difference between a dog toy and items that aren’t dog toys. He only wants dog toys, which is great!

He is incredibly loyal to his people and only barks when he sees something that could potentially be a threat to his people (like a stranger approaching). Once you tell him that there isn’t a threat or redirect his behavior, he stops. He is very eager to please his humans and will look for cues from you to determine his actions. He gets excited when his leash comes out, so be ready for the famous Pyr Paw when you leash him up. He just loves adventure so much! He’s up for anything with his “pack”.

When it’s bed time Babe plops himself down at the foot of the bed or in his dog bed, and sleeps through the night, waiting for you to get up in the morning. He is incredibly sweet, and will come find you at random times throughout the day (when he’s not napping) just for pets, cuddles, and love. He is being fostered in Boise, ID.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:

1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES THAT HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEDIUM TO LARGE YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOG that is age 1 or older. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.

2) These puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8+ hours a day.

4) We give preference to applicants with prior Great Pyrenees knowledge/experience.

5) Secure and visible fencing required.

6) You must have a plan in place to socialize your puppy properly.
